Orchard Park Community Primary School

STAFF VACANCIES

We currently have two staff vacancies:  a 1:1 Teaching Assistant and a Teaching Assistant

Our school, recently reaffirmed as 'good' by Ofsted (March 2017), is a unique and special place to work.  We are a small school on the edge of Cambridge, which is at the heart of a new and growing community.  We are extremely proud of what our school has achieved since it opened 10 years ago and we are excited by what the next decade may bring.

We pride ourselves on our positive and nurturing ethos, quality first teaching and high expectations in all we do.  Our recent Ofsted stated that we are a school where "there is a culture of ambition, where children are encouraged to dream big".

1:1 Teaching Assistant

Do you want a highly rewarding post, making the difference to some remarkable children?  Do you have experience of working with children with autistic spectrum disorder?  Are you looking to support children in their development on a 1:1 basis, enabling them to achieve their targets and access the curriculum?  Do you want to support teaching staff in ensuring the best outcomes for all pupils?  If so, we have the perfect post for you!

We are looking for someone who is committed to providing and supporting high quality teaching and learning opportunities across all curriculum areas.  Someone who is committed to inclusion and will therefore work hard to ensure that pupils receive the support they need to access the curriculum.  We need someone who has a desire to work with children with a medical diagnosis which means that they need a modified curriculum and additional intervention support.  This is a demanding yet highly rewarding position and one that makes a significant difference to pupils with special educational needs.

This role will predominantly involve 1:1 support for several children across the school.  The role will include lunch time cover, assisting in the provision of high quality play and learning opportunities.

A current Teaching Assistant says about this role:

"Having wored at a previous school for ten years I was anxious about moving to a new school.  However, I am pleased that I made the decision to join Orchard Park.  The staff are friendly and the school is caring and professional".

A newly appointed Teaching Assistant says about this role:

"Being a new TA, the school provided me with a great opportunity to learn from highly skilled professionals, so that I can feel confident when I am supporting the dhildren's learning".
