Safeguarding
Orchard Park CP School fully recognises the responsibility it has under the Section 175 of the Education Act 2002 to have arrangements in place to safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
This responsibility is more fully explained in the statutory guidance for colleges and schools "Keeping Children Safe in Education (September2019)". All staff are made aware of their duties and responsibilities in part one of this document.
Staff also read "What do do if you are worried that a child is being abused: Advice for Practitioners" (March 2015).
Through their day to day contact with pupils and direct work with families, staff at school have a crucial role to play in noticing indicators of possible abuse or neglect and referring them to Cambridge Social Care.
Safeguarding children is of paramount importance at Orchard Park CP School. Please see below for some of our key safeguarding polices. For further policies, please see the quick link section on the home page.
