Deputy Headteacher - 0.4
We are looking for an inspirational leader to share the position of deputy head teacher in our school.
This position is an ideal opportunity for an experienced leader to join our team in a part time role.
We need a leader with high expectations, to join our hardworking and supportive staff team. An experienced leader who is able to work in close collaboration with a job share partner to ensure that high standards are maintained and that the school continues to go from strength to strength.
This post includes some whole class teaching, team teaching, intervention and cover. The class teaching and cover teaching commitment is demand led and will vary at different points of the school year. Please note that a teaching commitment is essential, as the school recovery is dependent on it. The applicant therefore needs to be prepared to teach in any part of the school. Strong behaviour management skills are essential.
The deputy headteacher role will require working in close collaboration with the SENDCo and Inclusion Leader, ensuring that high quality provision is in place, enabling all pupils and groups to make strong progress. Over the coming years, the key focus will be the children with significant learning loss and learning gaps. Our SDP addresses how we will tackle these gaps and continually improve outcomes for children.
This role will give you the opportunity to work closely alongside the Governors and Headteacher in ensuring that our mission statement is a reality. The applicant will need to be able to forge strong relationships with parents and the community as this is the key to our success.
As a school, we are proud of our positive and nurturing ethos, where relationships are strong between all stakeholders.
The time has flown since our last inspection. The outcomes of this inspection during March 2017, confirmed that Orchard Park Primary School is a good school. The key findings were:

The teaching assistants are well trained and well deployed and are an asset to the school.
Safeguarding is effective and the school acts swiftly if a pupil is at risk.
The school is caring and nurturing. It is highly valued by parents for the individual approach it takes.
As we enter the next inspection window, we are focusing on recovering our full curriculum offer. Ensuring that curriculum leadership is strong and that the curriculum impact is as intended.
As stakeholders, we define our purpose through the following mission statement:
A place where children are empowered to reach their full potential, with the highest possible aspirations and a passion for learning. With values and respect, our children are confident to move from our nurturing environment to explore and succeed in the wider world.
Our entire curriculum and ethos is modelled on this statement.
