Teaching Assistant

Do you want a highly rewarding post, making the difference to some remarkable children?

Do you want to join a hardworking and happy team?

Do you want to support teaching staff in ensuring the best outcomes for pupils?

If so, we have the perfect post for you!

We are looking for a teaching assistant who is committed to providing and supporting high quality teaching and learning opportunities across all curriculum areas across the school. This may include working in Nursery/Reception, KS1 and KS2.

The roles will include targeted support within a whole class setting, the delivery of interventions within and outside of the classroom, as well as some 1:1 work. Support will include lunch time cover, assisting in the provision of high quality play and learning opportunities.

A current teaching assistant says this about the role:

“Having worked at a previous school for ten years I was anxious about moving to a new school. However, I am so pleased that I made the decision to join Orchard Park. The staff are friendly and the school is caring and professional.”

A newly appointed teaching assistant says this about the role:

“Being a new TA, the school provided me with a great opportunity to learn from highly skilled professionals, so that I can feel confident when I am supporting the children’s learning.”

Our school was reaffirmed as good in March 2022, where the inspectorate identified high expectations, good behaviour and a calm learning environment. The report said ‘pupils with SEND are supported in class using appropriate strategies by skilled adults. This ensures that these pupils can access the planned curriculum as fully as possible.’

As a school with a strong reading culture, we were delighted when OFSTED stated that teaching and support staff are well trained in the various schemes and approaches used, and they skilfully support and develop pupils’ reading skills. As a result, pupils quickly develop skills and confidence in early reading.

 We can provide you with:

  • An enthusiastic, talented and dedicated team to work alongside
  • A school where everyone is valued
  • Pupils that are hardworking and well behaved
  • An outstanding, striking learning environment
  • Opportunity to be part of something special.

We would love you to see our nurturing and successful school in action and would therefore encourage you to visit us if you can.

Please contact Lynsey in the school office on 01223 438200 to arrange an appointment or speak to Stacey Harper (Headteacher) for further information.
