At Orchard Park, keeping children safe is our top priority. We have clear systems to make sure concerns are listened to and acted upon quickly.
- Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL): Mrs Parker
- Deputy DSLs: Mr Fisher, Mrs Coe-Hales, and Mrs MacColl
- The safeguarding team meets weekly to review concerns and ensure the right actions are taken.

Our Commitment
- We provide a safe and welcoming environment where children are respected and valued.
- Staff are trained to spot signs of abuse or neglect and follow local safeguarding procedures.
- We work with the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Safeguarding Children Partnership Board to make sure children receive the right support.
Important for Parents
- By law, school staff must share any concerns about a child’s welfare, including risks of neglect or abuse.
- Records of safeguarding concerns may be kept about your child.
- We aim to discuss concerns with parents whenever possible, including referrals to other agencies.
- In rare cases, information may be shared without consent if doing so is necessary to keep a child safe.
Information Sharing
- We follow the Data Protection Act 2018 and local protocols to share information securely and only when necessary.
- The safety of the child is always our highest priority.
When We Act
- If we suspect a child is at risk of harm, we will contact Children’s Social Care immediately.
- Occasionally, concerns may be unfounded, but staff act in line with the law and in the best interests of children.
- In exceptional cases, we may need to keep a child in school while investigations take place.
